Practice Gap/Needs Assessment
Breast cancer management is continually advancing, with new research findings, innovative treatments, and multidisciplinary approaches rapidly emerging. To ensure the best possible outcomes for breast cancer patients, healthcare professionals who provide care to these patients must stay up-to-date with the latest developments. Through discussions with clinicians and a review of recent and emerging literature, the planning committee identified the most urgent educational needs for clinicians in this area. These areas include how to deploy emerging systemic therapies into practice, exploring controversies in breast cancer surgical management, and identifying best practices to manage difficult cases not addressed in current guidelines. This information will be instrumental in tailoring the conference program to address the identified knowledge gaps, learning preferences, and challenges, ultimately leading to improved clinician performance and, by extension, better patient outcomes in the dynamic field of breast cancer management.
Goals
Elevate breast cancer care across every stage of treatment and survivorship!
Join us for a dynamic, case-based symposium to improve the lives of patients living with breast cancer. Expert faculty will share the latest evidence-based strategies in medical, surgical, reconstructive, and radiation oncology, along with insights into practice-changing advances from the past year.
Highlights include:
Best practices and current controversies in breast cancer management
Cutting-edge applications of ctDNA and liquid biopsy technologies
Effective solutions for challenging side effects, including sexual dysfunction, hair loss, and lymphedema
A look ahead at late-phase therapies poised for clinical adoption
Target Audience
This activity is designed for physicians and other healthcare professionals caring for patients with breast cancer.
Outcomes
By the end of this highly interactive activity, you’ll walk away with practical tools to sharpen your decision-making, enhance clinical performance, and deliver better outcomes for patients across all breast cancer subtypes.
Learning Objectives
After this activity, participants will be able to:
Apply evidence-based approaches to the use of ctDNA and liquid biopsy in clinical decision-making for patients with breast cancer.
Implement supportive care strategies to address sexual dysfunction, hair loss, and lymphedema in breast cancer survivors.
Analyze practice-changing developments from the past year to guide clinical decision-making across medical, surgical, and radiation oncology.
Integrate recent late-phase clinical trial data to develop patient-specific treatment strategies in breast cancer management.
Evaluate evolving surgical strategies, including axillary de-escalation, to optimize outcomes and inform individualized patient care.
Develop management plans for toxicities associated with novel breast cancer therapies, including antibody-drug conjugates and endocrine therapies.
Design individualized care plans for patients with complex or guideline-limited breast cancer presentations using case-based clinical reasoning.
